Designing Airplane Struts Using Minimal Surfaces
A model for minimizing the effects of skin drag and pressure drag is constructed. We show that a simple scaling technique can be used to transform a dual, constrained minimization problem into a volume constrained surface area minimization. We discuss some successes and failures with implementing numerical methods for the problem.
متن کاملfailure and stress analysis of glass fiber reinforced laminated composite pinned joints
in this study, behavior of pin-loaded glass fiber reinforced with polyethylene laminated composites with different stacking sequence and different dimensions has been observed experimentally and stress analysis was performed using ansys software. the aim is to investigate stresses, failure strength and failure mode of composite laminates containing a pin loaded hole when the material exhibits l...
متن کاملDynamic Simulation of A Large Deployable Space Structure with Pinned Joints
Plays of joints strongly influence the dynamics of the large deployable space structures. In this paper, dynamic simulation of space structures with pinned joints is discussed. The study can be simply divided into two parts: the flexible effect of structure is simulated by MSC/NASTRAN, and the global motion of rigid body by DADS. The details of how to select the deformation modes in MSC/NASTRAN...
متن کاملDark Current Characterization of CMOS Global Shutter Pixels Using Pinned Storage Diodes
This paper describes dark current characterization of two-stage charge transfer pixels, which enable a global shuttering and kTC noise canceling. The proposed pixel uses pinned diode structures for the photodiode(PD) as well as the storage diode(SD), thereby a very low dark current can be expected. The measured dark current of the PD and SD with the negative gate bias results in 19.5 e-/s and 7...
